It’s also working on other tricks that will benefit users of Mailchimp and HubSpot CRM.

Accounting software vender Xero is working on a way to help users avoid accidentally emailing invoices to the wrong person.

It’s planning to make it possible to “instantly” update customer contacts from Xero to Outlook – which Xero claims will save time when checking invoices are being emailed to the right person.

As Xero puts it, it’s a move "from ‘send’ to ‘send and update’ in Microsoft Office 365”.

And if you have a Google account and use it to store contacts and send email, then Xero’s also thinking of you. It’s working on a way to sync customer and supplier contacts from Xero to Google Contacts.

These are some of the “deeper” integrations Xero is building with well-known software and web services.

It’s also working on a way to use Xero data to quickly create “curated” audience lists within Mailchimp marketing campaigns. That could make it easier to target customers that haven’t bought anything from you for a while, for example. Or you could harness Xero and Mailchimp to reward regular customers.

And Xero's going to enable automatic syncing of customer contacts between Xero and the HubSpot CRM.

Xero is also talking up plans for more "simple, seamless and smarter workflows" between its platform and other apps. That’s a good thing – having multiple versions of the same information stored in different apps increases the risk of making a mistake.
