If you bought this 3Sixt wall charger either stand-alone or with a Galaxy S8 or S8+, you should stop using it.

Cellnet has recalled the 3Sixt Quick Charge wall charger sold separately and as part of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ bundles between July 2016 and February 2018.

Unlike many previous recalls, batteries aren’t the source of the problem. The problem is that the “internal fuse may fail in an unsafe manner” with a resulting risk of electrical shock or damage to connected products, according to the recall notice.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the wall charger,” the notice says.

The model number is 3S-0639.

The adaptor was sold in a bundle of products by Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, and separately by various phone and electronics retailers.

Owners can return it to the place of purchase for replacement, or contact Cellnet on 1300 580 864, via email or their website.
