Program targets smart energy, smart grid, smart production, smart homes and sustainable energy initiatives.
Startupbootcamp has launched an accelerator program for energy-related startups with the backing of EnergyAustralia, Spotless Group, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Cisco, the Victorian Government’s LaunchVic operation and others.
The program is open to startups around the world in the smart energy, smart grid, smart production, smart homes and sustainable energy segments.
Focus areas for the program include IoT and connectivity, big data and advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, sustainable cities and living, energy sharing and trading, smart buildings and infrastructure, smart grids, and blockchain.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend events being held between late August and mid October in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and cities in New Zealand, South-East Asia, India, China, Europe and the US.
Applications close on 27 October.
Ten participants will be selected in December, with the program proper kicking off at the end of January 2018.
In addition to the usual training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, participants receive free co-working space during the program, along with $25,000 per team for living expenses. More than $500,000 is available in the form of perks and discounts from providers such as Amazon Web Services and SendGrid.
“There are startup businesses out there with great ideas that will make a difference to people’s everyday lives by putting them in control of the energy they use, even if it means they use less energy,” said EnergyAustralia NextGen executive Andrew Perry.
“The accelerator program is about helping those ideas get off the ground.”
