The online retailer has been selling mobile plans for some time – it's now offering data-only plans too.
Kogan is currently offering two prepaid mobile broadband plans: The S plan provides 8GB of data across 30 days for $29.90, and the M plan ups that to 30GB for $49.90. No fee is charged for the SIM.
A saving of around 9 percent can be made by pre-paying a year in advance: $329.90 on the S plan and $549.90 on the M plan.
Plans providing additional data will be offered in the near future, the company said.
"Customers have been telling us they love the price, simplicity and service they get with Kogan Mobile, and they want it for their broadband access," said Kogan Mobile executive director David Shafer.
"Many Australians still experience the poor quality and slow speeds of legacy ADSL services. Customers who rent their homes may want to avoid going through the process of signing up with an ADSL provider, and avoid fixed-line phone connections - especially when NBN services will continue to be rolled out over the coming years.
"Whether staying in touch with friends and family, streaming content, or working remotely, the ability to stay connected wherever you are, is crucial," he said.
The mention of "working remotely" is an important point, because some lower-cost mobile plans seek to limit customers to personal use only.
Kogan's mobile services are provided by Vodafone. That company currently charges $30 a month for 7GB, or 14GB for $45.
Similar plans from Optus cost $25 a month for 5GB, $35 for 10GB, and $50 for 25GB; while Telstra charges $30 for 3GB and $50 for 10GB, both with 28-day expiry.
