Intuit is holding its first Australian QuickBooks Connect event at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 18 May 2017.

“QuickBooks Connect has been developed to allow Australia’s diverse small business owners to network and learn from the experts, as well as from each other,” said Intuit Australia vice president and country manager Nicolette Maury.

“This is the first time we’re holding QuickBooks Connect in Australia and I’m delighted that we’re building momentum for this special event as it rolls out in our key global markets.

“Our aim is to power prosperity on a global and local scale and we look forward to revealing what’s possible for entrepreneurs, small businesses, accountants and bookkeepers to help them succeed.”

The master of ceremonies for QuickBooks Connect will be Rove McManus (currently appearing on the ABC as the host of Whovians), with personal trainer Michelle Bridges as the keynote speaker.

Also appearing are Steve Baxter (founder of ISP SE Net, co-founder of Pipe Networks, tech investor and one of the sharks on Shark Tank), photographer Eugene Tan, and interior designers Alisa and Lysandra Fraser.

Breakout sessions will address the interests of small business owners (such as “How to raise your prices – without losing a single customer”), and accountants and bookkeepers (including “Advanced QuickBooks Online – handling tricky transactions”).

Tickets cost $99, including meals and an evening reception.

A separate developer summit scheduled for 17 May will provide developers with information about forthcoming changes to the QuickBooks products and application programming interface (API).
