Australian success story Swann has updated its self-install video surveillance range with HD cameras and integration with a variety of smart devices.

Swann's $900 Smart-Series DVR8-5000B kit is designed for easy installation in homes and small business premises, and comprises an eight-channel digital video recorder (DVR) with a 1TB hard drive (said to be enough for more than 80 days), four full HD cameras, two window/door sensors, two motion sensors, siren, remote control fob, cables and other items.

The HD cameras are described as "weather resistant" with an 80-degree viewing angle and a night vision range of up to 30 metres.

The siren sounds and flashes its light when activity is detected by the sensors. There's also provision for smartphone notifications, and live viewing is available via the SwannOne app for Windows, OS X, iOS and Android.
