The company’s latest P-Touch portable labeller also offers special features for tradies.
The $849 Brother PT-D800W label printer is a portable device for producing labels on tapes ranging from 3.5 to 36mm wide.
It can be controlled from its own screen and keyboard, from a notebook via USB or Wi-Fi, or from Brother's Mobile Cable Label app for Android and iOS.
The app was designed specifically to create labels for telecom, datacom and electrical installations, and includes an extensive cloud-based collection of design templates and electrical symbols.
The PT-D800W itself includes hundreds of industrial symbols, and can automatically print the date and sequence numbers. The print speed is 60mm per second.
Compatible media comes in various colour combinations such as black on clear, blue on white, and white on satin gold. Tapes are available in regular, laminated, flexible and strong adhesive versions. There's also the option of heat shrink tube (8.8, 11.7 and 23.6mm) for labelling cables.
The 3.3kg PT-D800W comes with an AC adaptor, with a battery pack as an optional extra.
