The cloud accounting provider has redesigned its online invoices so they're easier to read on any device.
Xero's online invoicing feature now uses responsive design, so the invoices display properly on any device, including smartphones. The idea is that the easier it is to read an invoice, the sooner it will be paid.
"Ensuring our customers get paid as quickly as possible is vital to the small business economy," said Craig Walker, Xero's Chief Technology Officer.
"With today's release, we've embraced responsive web design to ensure that our customers can not only send their customers online invoices, but that those invoices are displayed beautifully, regardless of the device their customers are using."
Meanwhile, some Xero customers in New Zealand have been subjected to a sneaky form of fraud.
One way or another, the attackers gained access to their victims' email accounts. They found Xero invoices in the sent mail folder, changed the bank account numbers, and then resent the invoices with a request that payment be made to the 'new' account which is under the attackers' control.
The company points out that sending online invoices within Xero protects against this kind of attack.
"Xero encourages customers to use Two Step Authentication (2SA) and to send an online invoice from Xero as a more secure method than sending an invoice by email because payment terms cannot be changed without logging into Xero," said Walker.
