If you run your online store on Bigcommerce, here's a way of getting better insights from the data it generates.

We don't know how many of Bigcommerce's 55,000 customers are based in Australia, but they do include Collette Dinnigan, Etiquette and Bicycles Online.

If you're among them, the company is launching a new add-on real-time analytics service to help make sense of the data generated by your online store.

Figures generated by Bigcommerce Analytics include real-time sales, best selling products, popular categories, average order value, purchase funnel analysis, abandoned carts, category-level merchandising, and customer acquisition insights.

For example, it helps retailers understand the behaviour of returning customers, as well as those who haven't purchased anything recently. That information can be used for targeted campaigns.

Or they may find clues about why people are not proceeding to the checkout after putting items into their carts.

The company says one merchant was able to improve its organic traffic by over 50% within 30 days by using information from Bigcommerce Analytics.

Bigcommerce says the new service should be available to all of its clients in October, and that it will provide enterprise-grade technology at a price designed for SMEs.
