Samsung's latest flagship phone joins Telstra's list of recommended handsets for customers in rural areas.
We ran an article about Telstra's list of 'Blue Tick' phones - which are phones recommended for use in rural areas - about a year ago, but there's a new phone for that list.
It's the Samsung Galaxy S5 which goes on sale this Friday.
Telstra doesn't seem to provide a consolidated list of Blue Tick phones, but after digging around various parts of its web site we came up with this list, which a Telstra representative confirmed as complete:
- Apple iPhone 4S
- Apple iPhone 5c
- BlackBerry Z30
- Nokia Lumia 625
- Samsung Galaxy S4 mini
- Samsung Galaxy S5
- Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
- Telstra Dave
A Blue Tick handset doesn't guarantee good reception when you're outside metropolitan areas. All Telstra says is that "you can be sure that whether you’re in a regional area, country town or off the beaten track, you’ll experience the best possible coverage" if you use a Blue Tick mobile.
