MYOB PayDirect is an app that turns your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet into a mobile merchant terminal.
It sounds like it could be useful for mobile businesses such as dog walkers and groomers, lawn mowing services, house cleaners and all types of tradies.
The app will be generally available in the second quarter, following an initial restricted release later this quarter at which time pricing will be revealed.
The addition of an optional card reader will make the task even easier, though that will initially be limited to Visa and MasterCard transactions with EFTPOS coming later in 2014.
Tim Reed, CEO at MYOB, said the new app has the potential to significantly improve a small business's cash flow, with funds becoming available in two days.
Those who use AccountRight Live will also be able to raise invoices and access contact details stored in the cloud accounting software.
The company has further plans for PayDirect: "We're looking forward to revealing more features, integrations and partnerships in the coming weeks, months and years," said Reed.
It follows the launch of a Windows 8.1 app to provide mobile access to data stored in AccountRight Live.
