NBN expands in Brisbane but many may have to wait a year before they can connect.

NBN Co announced that additional NBN fibre services have rolled out in metropolitan Brisbane, with around 5,700 homes and businesses now able to order a connection through their ISP’s in Aspley.

NBN Co also announced that fibre construction has commenced for a further 5,500 homes and businesses in the Aspley area, including neighbouring suburbs Bridgeman downs, Carseldine and Zillmere.

Businesses and residents located in NBN construction commencement areas should note that NBN Co estimates a timeframe of 12 months before customers are actually able to signup via their ISP.

NBN fibre construction will commence or be complete for 934,300 homes and businesses in Queensland by mid-2016, and 4.8 million across the country.
