Venom BlackBook Zero 15 Phantom

Lenovo is having a sale - here's what you'll pay for the ThinkPad Twist, ThinkCentre and ThinkServer.

If you're looking for new computers for your office, this is a good week to shop.

Along with Apple's Black Friday sales, Lenovo is offering special deals through till "Cyber Monday", the 26th of November 2012.

As always we'd recommend shopping around as the full sticker price is rarely what you'd pay. However, there are some attractive offers:

If you're looking for a laptop that doubles up as a tablet then the ThinkPad Twist looks like a decent machine.

It has a 12.5 inch display, 4GB of memory (which is the maximum it can handle) and a 320GB hard drive.

The amount of memory is the main downside here although it's adequate for office applications, email and web browsing. If you're planning on using this as a portable image editor or design tool then you may need to look elsewhere.

The full RRP is $1462 but with their current online discount and a further Cyber Monday reduction it sells for $892. That's a hefty saving.

ThinkCentre Edge 92z

If you're looking for an all-in-one system then the ThinkCentre Edge 92z is a decent deal although the lead time on shipping is over four weeks according to the order page.

At $710 it's a decent discount on the original price of $1377. Also, it ships with Windows 7 so if you're keen on jumping to Windows 8 you'll need to stump for an upgrade.

The discounts on desktop systems are being applied more uniformly. Spend $599 or more on a desktop system and there's a 10% discount. And the rate of discount increases the more you spend.

  • 10% off all ThinkCentre desktops when your configuration is $599 or more.
  • 15% off all ThinkCentre desktops when your configuration is $900 or more.
  • 20% off all ThinkCentre desktops when your configuration is $1,800 or more.
  • 30% off all ThinkCentre desktops when your configuration is $3,000 or more.
  • 40% off all ThinkCentre desktops when your configuration is $4,000 or more.

ThinkServer TS130

The ThinkServer TS310 is a tower server that would probably meet the needs of most small businesses.

We configured one with 16GB of memory, 4TB of storage and the default Intel Xeon E3-1225V2 processor. The price came out to be about $1780 - not bad for a solid server that could support some basic virtualisation servcies.

The discounts on servers are also being applied based on the configured price.

  • 15% off all ThinkServer TS130 when your configuration is $1,500 or more.
  • 20% off all ThinkServer TS130 when your configuration is $2,200 or more.
  • 30% off all ThinkServer TS130 when your configuration is $3,000 or more.
  • 40% off all ThinkServer TS130 when your configuration is $4,000 or more.
