One of the handy features of the Samsung Galaxy S III is that your texts and missed call messages land in your email inbox.

I've been using the new Samsung Galaxy S III for the last week. One interesting thing I've noticed, in addition to the business features, design, the tethering settings and the battery life, is the way it handles my text messages.

If you're using a Galaxy S III with an email account that has ActiveSync enabled then you'll find it handy that all your SMS and missed call messages land in your email Inbox. The only hassle with this was that I couldn't respond to SMS as my email system doesn't have the right software and hardware to send text messages. If this is something of benefit to you then it's worth looking into.

So, does all this make the Galaxy S III any different to the dozens of other smartphones on the market? In our view, the SIII adds a couple of "nice to have" features with the SMS/Inbox integration via ActiveSync and Bluetooth 4.0 but otherwise its communications capability is what is expected of any smartphone, apart from the lack of 4G. There may be a 4G version coming out later this year but there's no firm date. However, 3G is good enough for email, web browsing and other basic Internet activities.
