You don't have to use your home address for your ABN any more

Worried about revealing your home address as your registered place of business for your ABN? Home businesses can now register a postal address.

Home based businesses now have the option of using a postal address instead of a physical address for their ABN registration.

While this change was primarily made due to privacy concerns raised by businesses who operate from home, the new rule should also benefit rural and remote businesses where mail often can’t be delivered to a physical address.

New businesses can provide their postal address during the registration process while existing businesses will need to get in touch with ASIC to update their details.
