Westpac merchant customers now have another trick up their sleeve.
Westpac merchant customers that want to streamline the in-store checkout process for their customers now have another trick up their sleeve.
Westpac has integrated its Presto Smart mobile payment terminal with the Kounta POS system.
That removes the need to manually type a payment amount into the terminal, because Kounta automatically communicates the customer’s order to the terminal. That may save customers and businesses time and reduce the chance of errors during payment.
Businesses will also benefit from automatic end-of-day reconciliation.
For those not familiar with Presto Smart, it’s one of two merchant payment terminals Westpac supplies that integrate with POS systems. The Presto Smart integrates with a long list of POS systems, while the EFTPOS 1i integrates with POS systems compatible with PC-EFTPOS.
Unlike the EFTPOS 1i, the Presto Smart can connect via Wi-Fi and is capable of split billing if the POS supports that feature.
Westpac also announced plans to introduce “proactive terminal health monitoring” to Presto Smart in August, 2019. It already has the ability to remotely fix problems with terminals, but states the proactive service will be a first for Australian merchant services.
