Vodafone pitches BlackBerry nirvana

Looking for the ultimate Blackberry setup for your small business? Vodafone is pitching Business One as the ultimate one-stop shop.

The new Vodafone Business One service certainly looks like it could make things easier for small businesses wanting to jump onto mobile email, but who find the array of plans and equipment confusing.

The package certainly sounds comprehensive. Vodafone is bundling its BlackBerry plans and associated services into a suite - including email, fixed and mobile calls, and "WiFi Office Zone calling". The plans start with business that have up to 24 users, and extend to business with up to 96 users.

The bundle can also include broadband, with Vodafone offering business grade ADSL2+, as well as domain hosting, and a remote office package.

Vodafone has also built a "Solution Builder" which supposedly helps make choosing a plan easier, by letting you select how many users and call minutes you'll be needing.

Of course, given the Vodafone service is powered by Cisco, there'll likely be some lock-in in terms of hardware. As our story here explains, when it comes to email at least, businesses should weigh up the benefit of signing up for carrier all-in-one services, versus managed Exchanged services from hosting providers, which give you some freedom on hardware and ISP.

Then again, if you don't have time to do the research, perhaps an all-in-one office solution like this is the answer to your mobile office dreams.
