Autodesk is offering a free 36 month licence for genuine training and educational needs
Are you learning to use industry standard software such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max or Maya?
Autodesk is offering a free 36-month license to any of their desktop software and cloud-based services.
The education versions offer all of the functionality of the professional licenses that normally retail for thousands of dollars.
To get access, simply create an account from the education community page.
An email address from an education institution is not required.
The terms and conditions do state however, that the software should not be used for commercial gain or for profit so it is not an option for existing AutoCAD professionals who are looking to save on software costs.
But if you are undertaking a course in the area or learning on the side, this is a great way to save a substantial amount of money on software.
While it’s fairly standard practice for software companies to release education versions of their software, this is the first time we have seen it done for free.
Adobe also offer Student and Teacher editions of their Adobe Cloud membership at reduced prices.
