This new Axis "lipstick" camera won't ruin your shop's look

Don't want an ugly big perspex security camera wrecking your sleek shops design? Meet the "lipstick camera".

When you've spent months planning and designing your modern, fashionable boutique shop like a fashion store or cafe, you might not want a security camera cluttering up the space.

Meet the "lipstick" camera, as Axis likes to call their new $380 M2014-E network camera. With a small, white "bullet-style" design, the camera is designed so it won't stick out like a sore thumb.

We like the fact you don't need a special bracket to mount the camera - the video shows it being clipped onto the side of a bookshelf.

A handy bonus - the camera will also cope with "heavy rain", according to the Axis press release

Axis claims the network camera is the smallest bullet-style HD model on the market. It works with the company's free Camera Companion software, for installations of one to 16 cameras.
For those looking for a cheaper device for indoor use, Axis has also announced the $190 M1004-W. While it also provides HD video, the Wi-Fi interface makes for simple installation.
Both models should be available by the middle of the year.
