This device lets you lure customers with free WiFi

Like the way large retailers and some restaurants use free WiFi as a way of enticing customers? You can do something similar with this device.

Linksys has launched a new Wireless-AC Dual Band Access Point - the LAPAC1750PRO. This new access point is specifically targeted at small and medium businesses.

It's not cheap - $600 - but amongst the many features are its ability to offer a fully branded hotspot that you can offer to your customers - much like large retailers and restaurants that use free WiFi as a way of enticing customers.

The hotspot welcome page can be fully branded in company livery, company logo and images for a more professional look and feel.

The Linksys Business Wireless-AC Dual Band Access Point supports the latest 802.11ac technology. It also has various security features including Rouge AP Detection. This is useful as data thieves can set up their own access points that mimic public access points so they can steal data.

It also has two inbound Ethernet ports - unlike access points that are pitched at home users. This means you can double the amount of bandwidth going to the router for better performance. Or, if reliability is a focus, you can have two connections from different service providers come in. That way, if one provider goes offline you can stay connected through the second connection.
