Use your iPad and need to access work files but can't login and access your Windows computer? This app might help.
There are probably times when, regardless of how much you prepare, that you leave a critical file on your PC and forget to transfer it to your iPad. Or perhaps you really need to use an application that has no iPad equivalent.
Parallels Access has recently been updated, making it possible to run applications and access files and documents from your office computer on your iPad.
Parallels Access is a remote desktop program. It makes it possible to securely log in to a service that lets you control your PC over the Internet and display the content on your iPad or iPhone.
Unlike other solutions that remotely display everything from your PC or Mac's screen, Parallels Access, which has just been updated to version 2, lets you launch applications without having to navigate the Windows or Mac user interface - which can be clunky with a finger as they're designed to be used with a mouse.
There are three components to Parallels Access: an application that runs on the computer, an app that runs on your iPad or iPhone and a service that's hosted on the Internet that links the two programs. Access to that service, which is the glue that holds it all together, costs $19.99 per year. There's a free 14-day trial.
You can then launch applications from your PC and use them on your iPad or iPhone without the need to load applications on your iPad or transfer files to and from your computer.
