Now you can use the mobile card reader more efficiently on a counter.
The Square payments service is increasingly well-known in Australia, and now merchants can buy the counter-top stand they may have seen overseas.
Square’s contactless and card reader is a convenient way of taking payments on the move, and the optional dock is handy for keeping it charged when used on a counter.
But in those counter-top situations, users have been left to find a third-party stand for the iPad running the Square Point of Sale app, because the Square Stand has only been available overseas.
That’s finally changed with the local release of the Square Stand for contactless and chip.
“There is an overwhelming demand from Square sellers to find better countertop solutions that can help them streamline their operations as they grow and move into more fixed locations,” said Square's Australia country manager Ben Pfisterer.
“Square Stand for contactless and chip is designed specifically to address the countertop needs for businesses of any size, location or complexity.”
The stand costs $299 whether purchased online from Square or from Officeworks.
“We have used Square for payments since we started. Our events and client services teams regularly move around Melbourne on a day-to-day basis, so it's great for mobility and taking payments on the go,” said The Plant Society managing director Nathan Smith.
“When we opened our shop space a few months ago, we needed a checkout system that wouldn't create a barrier between our customers and staff, yet still allowed us to take payments and monitor our business operations. Square Stand seamlessly blends into our interior, it looks great, and is easy to use.”
