Telstra "out of stock", iPhone 5 pre-order over for now

There is now a 2-3 week delivery wait on iPhone 5 from Apple stores, while Telstra has run out of pre-order stock. Click for more.

Telstra has stopped taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5, while the Apple Store is advertising a two to three-week wait for pre-ordered iPhones.

A message posted on the Telstra Facebook page today states that pre-orders are over “for now”, while Telstra’s web site says the carrier is “working on getting more in”. Telstra customers can register to find out when more iPhone 5’s are available here.

Meanwhile, those wanting to avoid the usual queues at Apple stores when the phone goes on sale on September 21 by placing a pre-order with the Apple Store, now have a two to three week delivery time, according to the Apple Store web site.

The Optus web site is still listing September 21 as the start date for deliveries of pre-orders (Optus customers only), though we couldn't see anywhere the site lists how long deliveries are expected to take.

Vodafone is displaying a table on its web site showing expected delivery times for pre-orders. The site states delivery will begin on September 21. Vodafone customers can expect to get their hands on the black iPhone 5 faster than the white handset, according to the following table.

Virgin Mobile has stopped taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5, stating on its web site, "We’ll be accepting more pre-orders for our existing customers as soon as we can."
