SWOOP Analytics can help businesses and employees improve how they use Facebook's new collaboration platform.
Social media-style collaboration platforms are gaining momentum in the business world, and Sydney-based startup SWOOP Analytics is reaping the rewards by providing analytics to help businesses and employees improve how they use those platforms.
SWOOP is now beta testing an equivalent product for Facebook’s new collaboration platform for business, Workplace by Facebook. It’s the first company in the world to become an analytics partner for Workplace by Facebook.
A key aspect of SWOOP is that it provides individual users with their own self-service dashboards that reveal how they are interacting with others, as well as giving an organisational view of engagement and collaboration. The company says SWOOP's development included a privacy review by ethics specialists.
SWOOP includes more than 30 pre-configured indicators to help people become better collaborators.
“Workplace (for Facebook) helps organisations break down traditional business hierarchies, improve staff engagement and boost connectivity and collaboration,” said SWOOP Analytics chief executive Cai Kjaer.
“Using SWOOP gives companies the ability to analyse the effectiveness of their communication and gives guidance to employees on how to be better collaborators in the workplace.”
The idea is that increasing the use of Yammer or Workplace leads to greater knowledge sharing, problem solving and innovation, and hence improves the return on investment.
