Sydney city train line gets reception upgrade

Phone reception has been upgraded in the train tunnels around the City Circle in Sydney.

iTnews reports that Sydney rail commuters who use the City Circle train line now have voice and Internet access when they are in the train tunnels.

Commuters that use the Eastern Suburbs line are expected to have access by early 2014, according to this Telstra press release.

iTnews reports that both 3G and 4G coverage will work in the City Circle tunnels, while Vodafone users should get a 3G signal in all six City Circle stops.

In July last year we reported that Telstra had upgraded phone services from Central to North Sydney, while Optus was promising "no drop outs" between Central and Chatswood.
