See the latest NBN rollout area in regional Queensland

The NBN fibre has been rolled out to 7,000 more buildings in regional Queensland. Click to see where.

The NBN fibre network has been rolled out to 2,700 homes and businesses in central Cairns and another 1,550 in Mackay.
A further 2,800 premises around the Mackay-Whitsunday region are also now served by the NBN fixed wireless network.
Further construction in these areas is already underway. This will another 11,300 premises connected in the Mackay area, specifically:
  • Bakers Creek
  • East Mackay
  • Paget
  • Racecourse
  • South Mackay
  • West Mackay
There will also be another 2,900 buildings connected around Cairns, in additional areas of the city as well as:
  • Cairns North
  • Manunda
  • Parramatta Park
  • Westcourt
  • Bungalow
  • Portsmith
Looking further ahead, work on the fibre network to serve areas east of Cairns from Stony Creek to Palm Cove is scheduled to commence between September 2013 and December 2014.
Officially, 934,300 Queensland premises are located within areas where the NBN fibre network rollout will be under way or completed by mid 2016.
Earlier this week we reported that the NBN rollout had reached 12,400 premises in Townsville, bringing the Queensland total to 39,800.
