DekkoVault is a new file storage and sharing service designed for security-conscious Australian businesses.
Security and data sovereignty are two considerations that sometimes discourage people from using file sharing services. However, an Australian provider says it has those points covered.
Dekko Secure's new DekkoVault cloud-based data sharing and storage service is designed to provide a completely secure environment.
It provides storage of files of unlimited size, as well as the ability to share them with other Dekko users.
"DekkoVault provides the convenience of other file-sharing products on the market but with the additional benefit of end-to-end encryption and security," said managing director Jacqui Nelson.
"The service runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform which provides additional levels of protection and redundancy. For organisations bound by regulations such as data sovereignty, Dekko is hosted in Australia or can be deployed as on-premise solution."
Files are shared via a secure link or within the platform, so they can be opened only by the intended recipient.
The company expects DekkoVault to appeal to insurance, legal and accounting firms that need a way to share sensitive files within the organisation, or with its clients and trusted third parties.
"We are aiming to make DekkoVault a superior alternative to existing cloud-based data storage and sharing services because security has been built in from the start," said Nelson.
"No one else, including advertisers, outside threats, or even Dekko or Microsoft Azure administrators, can see the data files" thanks to end-to-end encryption said solutions engineer Alex Lyons. "It is impossible to hijack a Dekko account and access data without knowing the user's password."
Nelson added "Dekko can be safely used over unsecured networks, such as public Wi-Fi found in airports and cafes."
"The service can integrate with existing workflows, providing strong data security regardless of where files are accessed and on what type of device," said Lyons.
DekkoVault subscriptions start at $10 per user per month.
