SBE Accelerator opens for female-led companies

The 2018 Springboard Enterprises Australia Accelerator program offers coaching and connections to investors.

The Springboard Enterprises (SBE) Australia Accelerator program is open to emerging high-growth companies that have at least one woman in a senior leadership position.

Over the last five years, 45 companies have completed the program, of which 85 percent subsequently raised capital. The founder of one of those successful companies – UrbanYou's Noga Edelstein – has just joined the SBE Australia board.

UrbanYou raised $1 million in two weeks after completing the 2017 program, allowing it to acquire competitor HomeHello, expand into Brisbane, and launch a new service that now accounts for 10 percent of monthly revenue.

“If you are looking to raise capital, make quality connections and gain a deeper understanding of your business, you need to apply for The Springboard Enterprises Australia Accelerator. It provides unmatchable access to a global community of innovators, investors and influencers, and top-tier mentoring and business sessions,” said Edelstein.

The program comprises a three-day boot camp, an eight-week coaching program (to help with business strategy, financial modelling, IP, pitch deck, connections with high value networks in the US and Australia), and an opportunity to pitch to an audience of investors and influential business people, including corporate executives and advisors. SBE Australia does not take equity in participating companies.

Launch events are being held around the country over the next two weeks, and applications are now open, closing on 23 February 2018.

The program itself runs from April to June.
