Sage joins the move to cloud accounting

Sage 300c is Sage Business Solutions new cloud-based accounting and business management system for SMBs.

Rather than having to install software on individual devices, it can be accessed from browsers that support HTML5 - which is to say almost any modern browser.

But it does not initially provide all the functionality of Sage 300. The first release provides the home page, bank services, tax tracking, payment processing, general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable modules.

Three further releases are planned for the coming months.

Until the complete Sage 300c suite is available, it can be used in tandem with Sage 300.

"Business operations can be complex, but business management solutions shouldn't be," said Mike Lorge, managing director of Sage Business Solutions.

"Sage 300c takes our best-in-class, on-premises product and combines it with the power of the cloud, adding more mobility and online access for our customers."

"Sage 300c gives existing customers the confidence that comes from their current trusted solution, as well as the freedom to leverage new technology at their own pace without any disruption to their businesses," he added.

"Today, companies of all sizes need technology that meets the needs of their mobile work lives. It should save time, add-value and be low maintenance. Sage 300c delivers that in spades."
