If you work on projects with other people, Podio might be worth a look - especially as there's now a Podio app for iPad.
Project management' generally brings to mind Gantt charts, PERT charts and other formalities. But Podio has put a new spin on project management that's much more than just project management in the conventional sense.
Podio is being used for lead management, event management and other activities. If you want to see how one Australian small business has used Podio, check out this video.
A key feature is the way Podio allows the creation of apps to suit particular projects. These apps can be shared (if you choose to do so), customised, or used as the basis for new ones. Tens of thousands of apps have been created, and more than 700 are available in the Podio App Market.
As a bonus, Podio is free for up to five employees and five external participants, or $US8 per employee per month for larger groups.
There's also a new update of the Podio app for iOS, this time designed specifically to work well on the iPad. The app isn't limited to using existing Podio apps: it can be used to build new ones.
Podio also works with a variety of other online services including Citrix GoToMeeting and Google Apps, as well as storage services such as Dropbox and Citrix ShareFile.
