Plenty of businesses don't know what a hosted PBX is

If your business has grown to the point you have an office full of people then this might be worth looking into.

A third of small to medium businesses in Australia have not heard of hosted PBX technology, according to the Parallels SMB Cloud Insights report.

That's not surprising to us - there are plenty of cloud-based technology to get your head around. Still, if your business has grown to the point you have an office full of people then it might be worth looking into.

There are a wide and growing range of companies offer hosted PBX services to Australian small to medium businesses.

A hosted PBX typically provides most of the features of a phone switchboard aimed at larger businesses, but without the need to install expensive equipment. Instead of the gear being located on your premises, it lives in the provider's data centre.

You can connect regular phones via VoIP, or use a VoIP phone or a softphone (an app that allows a computer or mobile device to work as a VoIP phone).
