Panasonic launches new security cameras and recorders

Panasonic has released seven new cameras that can record at high-speed and in HD - that's better than DVD quality.

Video surveillance and monitoring systems have come a long way. We are now well and truly in the digital age with cameras that can bring to light subjects in high resolution, in full colour in the dimmest situations.

Panasonic has released seven new cameras that can record at high-speed and in HD - that's better than DVD quality.

The WV-SFV311 and WV-SFV310 network cameras are outdoor-ready. They are weather and impact resistant. The WV-SFR311, WV-SFR310, WV-SFN311L, WV-SFN311 and WV-SFN310 network cameras are designed for indoor use. The WV-SFR311 and WV-SFR310 are impact-resistant and the WV-SFN311L has an infrared LED to capture clear images in low light or completely dark conditions.

Having decent cameras is only half the equation. You also need a way of capturing footage for later review. It's important to understand security cameras may act as a deterrent to some thieves but their value in identifying perpetrators after an incident relies on being able to access footage quickly and easily.

The WJ-NV300 Network Disk Recorder can be used straight out of the box. It supports up to 32 network cameras and provides users with a full-featured IP video surveillance system including viewing, recording, alarm functions, searching, networking, management and optional intelligent video features.

Unlike many other recording solutions, the NV300 doesn’t require a PC - it is designed to operate as an independent appliance. It's rack-mountable and only takes up 2RU of space.

When purchased, the WJ-NV300 supports connections from nine cameras. But an optional license pack boosts that to 32 cameras and adds software that can count people and, age and gender demographic reporting.
