If you want an iPhone 5 sooner rather than later, you might have to chance the queues at the shops this Friday.
Those wanting to pre-order an iPhone 5 from Optus before this Friday’s on sale date will find the phone is listed as “out of stock”.
The Optus site states there is no more stock for existing Optus customers wanting to pre-order, or for new customers.
While pre-ordering is meant to provide a way to “beat the queues”, as Vodafone puts it, and have a phone set aside for delivery, unless you got in early, you might not get hold of the handset for weeks. While deliveries for pre-ordered iPhones begin on Friday, delivery could take up to three weeks, depending on which provider you ordered with.
We note the Apple Store is still taking pre-orders.
