Optus customers in Canberra are looking at March or April for 4G, while it will be mid-year if you're living in Adelaide.
We've said it before and we'll say it again - if fast, wireless Internet is important in getting your day-to-day work done, then you should be considering 4G for your next phone or tablet.
If you're an Optus user working in Adelaide or Canberra though, it's all theoretical as you can't actually get 4G from Optus.
So when are you due to get a 4G service from Optus?
You can already find news articles quoting Optus 4G timeframes for the two cities, but we hadn't reported them yet. After attending a media event today on Optus' 4G progress where Canberra and Adelaide was mentioned, we thought it worth relaying the message.
In Adelaide Optus is currently talking about having a service available by the middle of 2013.
In Canberra, that timeframe is March or April.
Telstra already has 4G coverage in Adelaide and Canberra and plans to increase coverage in both areas in 2013.
