NBN to arrive in Petrie and Ipswich in Queensland

A total of 4000 homes and businesses in parts of Petrie and Ipswich can now connect to the NBN.

If you're in the coverage area, start looking around for the providers and plans that best suit your requirements.
But that task is more urgent if you're in the parts of Aspley and Toowoomba where the NBN became available early last year, as the disconnection of the old copper and HFC networks is scheduled to start in those areas on 28 September.
Services aren't switched over to the NBN automatically - it's up to you to order them. As long as you're not under contract, this provides an excellent opportunity to investigate providers other than those you currently use.
The NBN web site lists a numebr of cases where special action is needed, including the existence of medical alarms or alerts, or if your premises are fitted with a fire indicator panel or an emergency lift phone, or if you have a fax, for example.
