NBN rollout heading to four more Queensland areas

Approximately 6,800 homes and businesses in the Greater Brisbane, Darling Downs, Mackay and South Burnett regions will be covered by this stage of the rollout.

NBN Co has announced that construction of its fibre and fixed wireless will begin in additional parts of Queensland.
The specific areas involved are:
  • Greater Brisbane: Acacia Ridge, Algester, Calamvale, Drewvale, Parkinson, Sunnybank Hills, and Willawong
  • Darling Downs: Millmerran (surrounds)
  • Mackay: Grasstree Beach, Habana, and Nindaroo
  • South Burnett: Wattle Camp
The areas covered can be determined from the interactive NBN rollout map, which also shows which technology is being used in each area.
NBN Co officials said it takes an average of 12 months from the start of construction until phone and internet services are available on the network.
