The formal 'switch on' for the NBN's fibre network in Hobart occurred today
Good news if you work in Hobart and your business relies on fast Internet - 1,800 homes and businesses in Hobart can now sign up for services over the fibre network, the government announced today.
Work has also commenced in the following areas:
- Kingston
- St Helens
- Launceston
- Bellerive
- Somerset for completion by the end of this year.
The formal 'switch on' for the NBN occurred in Hobart today, with the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, Federal Member Julie Collins, and Senators Carol Brown and Lisa Singh present for the event.
"Our state is going to be the first in Australia fully connected to the NBN by mid-2015," said Senator Singh.
