NBN fibre coming to more of Taree and Cundletown

NBN Co has announced that construction of a fixed-line network will start in additional parts of Taree and Cundletown in New South Wales.

More than 2400 homes and businesses are said to be in the coverage area, which can be seen by searching for Taree on the interactive NBN rollout map.

NBN Co officials said it takes an average of 12 months from the start of construction until phone and internet services are available on the network.

What isn't clear from the announcement is whether this part of the network will be Fibre to the Premises which permits speeds up to 1,000MBps) or the slower Fibre to the Node technology that NBN Co has been pushed into adopting by the present Federal Government.
