This could be very convenient if you're a tradesperson or a retailer who attends markets or antique fairs and similar events.
Mint Wireless, a provider of mobile payments services, and business software MYOB have signed a five year deal that will see MYOB distribute Mint's services and integrate them with MYOB software.
Mint Wireless provides a service that among other things allows merchants to accept payments on iOS, Android and other mobile devices, including a way of handling chip-and-PIN cards on smartphones.
This sounds very convenient if you're a mobile business such as a tradesperson or a retailer who attends markets or antique fairs and similar events.
MYOB isn't ready to discuss its plans, but we would expect MYOB users will be able to buy Mint payment services as an add-on to their subscriptions and that the transactions will feed into in MYOB with the option of automatically emailing a receipt or tax invoice to the customer.
MYOB already offers an EFTPOS service in conjunction with Tyro. The monthly fee is $25 for a desktop terminal or $35 for the mobile terminal which connects to a wireless network such as a smartphone sharing its data connection. Transaction fees are additional in both cases.
