MYOB adds Bpay to invoices

Users of the accounting system can now offer another payment option to customers.

MYOB has provided for some time a convenient mechanism for its users to accept invoice payments via credit card. This reduces average payment time from 42 to 10 days, according to the accounting software company.

That's fine for businesses that sell primarily to consumers, although not everyone has or wants a credit or debit card.

MYOB-generated invoices now also allow for payment via Bpay, so customers can pay from their bank accounts without drawing cheques or enabling 'pay anyone' on their internet banking service.

“Giving customers the choice of Bpay as a payment method will provide even more ways for businesses to get paid faster,” said head of product marketing Kim Owen-Jones.

“Relationships with companies like Bpay are fundamental in getting great solutions to our customers.”

According to Bpay general manager of product, scheme and business development Keith Brown, more than 1.5 million Bpay payments are made each day.

The MYOB collaboration “is part of our commitment to innovating around the Bpay product and helping solve frictions for customers and businesses,” he said.

Another change in the software is that MYOB users can now see when their customers view their invoices.
