Microsoft prepares Office in 32-bit and 64-bit flavours

It seems that the dark satanic rumour mill spun out a truth when it suggested that Microsoft was going to release its Office 2010 in 32 and 64 bit versions.

Previous versions of Office have only shipped in 32-bit or 16-bit flavours. Now  a Micirosoft spokesperson has told Ars Technica that Office 2010 will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

No longer will Windows 64 bit have to pretend that it is running in a 32-bit environment in order to run Office 2010.

It is hoping that the new version of Office will spur the move to 64 bit systems.
