Five new Lexmark A4 colour laser printers and MFPs will hit the showroom floor next month, and the company says they are class-leading in various ways.
The new models range from the $2379 CS725de printer to the $17,109 CX860dte, which tells you that you need to be looking at relatively large workgroups or particularly high volumes before they are of interest.
There's also provision for apps to provide functionality such as custom workflows or tracking and billing print and copy use.
Lexmark claims that all these new devices offer the fastest print and copy speeds in their respective classes, while some have the highest toner capacity - that's important because you don't want high-volume runs to be interrupted by frequent 'toner out' messages.
In addition to the highest toner capacity ("up to 55,000 black and up to 55,000 colour pages"), the CX860dte has the largest input/output capacity (expandable to 4500 pages) and the most flexible media support ("from tissue-thin paper to thick card stock") of any A4 colour laser MFP, its photoconductor units are said to be good for 175,000 pages. And the print speed of up to 57 ppm isn't to be sneezed at.
As we've come to expect, the new models are controlled by touchscreen, with sizes ranging from 4.3in on the CS725de to a hefty 10in on the CX860dte, and all featuring a surface that can be activated by "almost anything" without requiring skin contact or pressure.
