If you were quick off the mark with your tax return, the ATO may not have been ready when you were.
As reported by iTnews, the ATO once again suffered from IT issues on Wednesday (5 July). Unspecified but "intermittent" issues led the ATO to take down most of its online portals and internal processing systems for maintenance.
"To resolve some intermittent system issues, we’ve had to take our portals, myTax, and other online services offline this afternoon," the ATO tweeted.
For example, the BAS Agent Portal Dashboard was showing a "major system outage" affecting portal logins, activity statements, client communication lists, on-demand reports, client accounts, and mail messaging.
For each of these capabilities the dashboard reported: "This function is unavailable. We are working to correct the issue as quickly as possible."
UPDATE: The ATO advised that its systems were again operational at 8:30pm on Wednesday, according to iTnews.
Due to multiple previous incidents, a review of the ATO's IT environment was underway before today's issues occurred.
