You can now add Xero and Reckon Accounts 2014 to the types of accounts you can convert to work with Quickbooks Online.
Intuit previously offered a conversion service from QuickBooks desktop or MYOB to QuickBooks Online, but the company has now added Xero and Reckon Accounts 2014 to the list.
The complete list of supported Australian versions of the various packages is:
- Reckon Accounts 2014 or earlier (including Reckon Hosted)
- QuickBooks 2009 or later (.qbb or .qbw files)
- MYOB AccountRight Enterprise and Premier V19 and earlier (.myo files)
All transactions are transferred from one system to the other, simplifying the switch between one program and another, and retaining the ability to compare your business's current performance with previous periods.
The conversion service is actually provided by Australian-owned but Vietnam-based accounting services provider Odyssey Resources, but for a limited though unspecified time Intuit will pick up the bill for new QuickBooks Online subscribers, providing they are registered Australian businesses.
If you're instead planning a switch to MYOB, we've previously reported that the company has partners that will, for a fee, convert your QuickBooks or Xero data to AccountRight Live.
