Government endorsed free Android app for making a business plan

Been meaning to have a crack at that business plan? This free Android app, also on iPad, is a good excuse.

[Correction: this article originally incorrectly stated the app is available on iPhone. The article has been corrected.]

From what we hear anecdotally, it's not uncommon for people starting their first business to not have a business plan.

There is actually a free Government-issued app for this purpose, and it's now on Android.

Back in September we reported on three free business-planning apps for the iPhone and iPad from the web site

They are called MyBizPlan, MarketMyBiz and MyBizShield.

Now all three apps are available to download for Android users as well.

The apps step you through the process of creating business, marketing and emergency management plans for your business.

The apps are based on the popular planning templates and guides, which the government claims have been downloaded over 1.2 million times.

Developed with the help of business experts, the apps include the following features:

  • handy tips and prompts to guide you through each section of your plan
  • ability to see at a glance which sections you've finished and which sections you still need to complete
  • ability to remove sections of the plan that don't apply to your business, helping you tailor your plan to your business needs
  • options to back-up and easily access your plan by saving it as a PDF, emailing it or saving it to the 'cloud'.
