At least one local business community likes the idea of free WiFi as a marketing tool.
We've brought you news about the spread of free Wi-Fi in our big cities, but it's happening in regional areas too.
The Loxton (South Australia) Chamber of Commerce announced recently via Facebook the arrival of free Wi-Fi in the town's main shopping precinct - from "the Loxton Pioneer Playground to the river front."
"This will be a great tool for marketing and tourism promotion ," states the Facebook page.
The project is a partnership between Destination Riverland (the peak tourism body for the region), Loxton Waikerie Council, and the Chamber.
We notice the ABC reported that the Loxton rollout is part of a broader plan for the region.
