Finance podcast procures payment

Australian investing podcast, Equity Mates, has secured seed funding to accelerate growth plans.

Amid the seed funding, Equity Mates has seen huge growth amid COVID-19, in part due to the boom of retail investing and a demand for education from a media outlet, fuelling a 218 per cent increase in listenership, and clocking over 100,000 unique monthly listeners.

Since the podcast launched in 2017, Equity Mates has interviewed some impressive names in finance and beyond, including former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, footballer Chris Judd, financial expert Alan Kohler and cricketer Usman Khawaja.

The investment was made entirely by Matt Leibowitz, CEO of Australian-founded digital brokerage platform Stake, who has mentored Equity Mates founders Bryce Leske and Alec Renehan for over four years.
