Deputy can now automatically create staff schedules due to the use of machine learning. The cloud rostering provider’s new auto-scheduling tool takes multiple factors – including footfall and sales data – into account, building the best possible worker roster to meet a specified business goal such as cost saving or team equality.
Users can feed in business-specific demand signals (for example, a cafe might use the number of coffee orders in different time periods), and the scheduling tool will determine the exact number of staff required in each area.
That is used to create a shift structure with the right number of people working in every area at all times, and then that structure can be automatically filled with the best people for every shift according to the chosen priorities.
