Cut-price security offer for Xero users

MailGuard offers Xero customers discounted email and web-browsing protection.

One of the most common ways malware – notably ransomware – reaches computers is via email attachments. These threats can be mitigated to some extent by some endpoint security software with email protection and services that provide filtering.

However, for further protection – the security industry calls it 'defence in depth' – some services provide additional email scanning before it is delivered.

One such service is offered by MailGuard , which checks for threats including spear phishing – fraudulent emails that appear to be from someone you know – along with malware, viruses and spam.

The company also offers the WebGuard security service that filters malware from web content before it reaches your systems.

Both services run in the cloud, so there's no additional processing load on your computers, you don't have to worry about updates, and the amount of data flowing across your internet connection is reduced. In addition, the email security service works with Office 365 and Google Apps for Work, as well as hosted or on-premises email servers.

The normal price is $5 per user per month for each service, but the company is now offering Xero users a 20 percent discount if they buy both – $8 per user per month for mail and web security.

The news is even better for Xero partners such as accountants – they get a 50 percent discount.

Ask for your Xero discount at this MailGuard special offer page – it only mentions the partner discount, but we're told Xero customers can use the same form; they simply get the smaller discount.
