Lexmark's latest family of small-business printers include a feature that lets you stop anyone else seeing what you've printed.
One of the features found in some printers for "big business" is the ability to prevent anyone else seeing what you've printed.
For example, if you print a document to a personal printer, the job pops out more or less immediately. That's no problem if you're the only person on the premises, but you might prefer to avoid the risk that an employee might see a sensitive document.
So laser printers aimed at larger customers often have a 'hold' feature that processes the job but does not actually print it until you walk up and enter a PIN.
That's one of the big-business features found in Lexmark's new MS312dn ($299) and MS415dn ($599) laser printers.
Others include network security, remote manageability, and generous paper capacity - up to 850 sheets.
And there are the usual convenience features such as support for printing from iOS and Android devices, speedy first-page out (as little as 6.5 sec), duplex printing, and low power consumption when not in use (0.5W when hibernating).
